Jacob’s father is a theoretical astrophysicist, and the words he said during their September garden ceremony were amongst the best I have ever heard uttered on Planet Earth.

“I have spent 50 years trying to understand how stars and planets form, and part of this has been understanding how binary star systems form and evolve. Binary star systems are subject to repeated perturbations – it is rough out there in the cosmos – but they are more stable and live more or less forever if the two stars are in a close and nearly circular orbit, always aware of and reacting to one another. Also if neither star is dominant, so there is equivalence in their relationship. Such binary stars are literally ‘marriages made in heaven’.

I’m just going to leave that right there, anything else that needs saying is all in Alice’s smile x
